A broken window in an adjacent house frames the Captain Scott house is moved into a farm field on the first leg of its journey to a new location. The Italianate house, built c. 1870 in Alexandria, Ohio, for Union soldier and abolitionist Joseph Scott, was scheduled for demolition for a divided four-lane highway until a grassroots group came up with enough money to move it. The Captain Scott house is moved from adjacent to Route 161 location to Alexandria to make way for a new interchange.
